Summary and Purpose of Role: 

Private Label Manager ensures implementation of the PL strategy in a line with organizational goals and objectives. PL Manager is responsible for searching suppliers for private label products, ensuring effective and timely supply process. They ensure implementation of PL-related marketing and merchandising strategies, budgets, stock levels, sales trends, and profit objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducting market research, analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions;

  • Analyzing past sales data to anticipate trends in consumer buying pattern;

  • Collaborating with trading team to clarify PL purchase requisitions, identify departmental needs, and refine specifications for future purchase orders;

  • Sourcing and selecting new products by attending national and international PL fairs and events;

  • Investigating and cultivating new sources for supplies and products;

  • Building relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing, terms and conditions;

  • Evaluating offers in accordance with company’s PL strategy;

  • Carrying out complete contract and documentation cycle;

  • Processing purchasing transactions according to state and company policies and procedures;

  • Solving occurring problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner;

  • Updating PL inventory at DC and stores to ensure that stocks are kept at appropriate levels;

  • Assisting visual merchandisers in planning PL products layouts in stores to promote key lines;

  • Working with advertising department in order to promote PL products;

  • Monitoring market changes, competitor prices and products;

  • Assessment of new marketing and sales opportunities, presentation of those estimations to the respective management;

  • Preparing daily, weekly, monthly, yearly reports and analytics

  • Working out and implementing category-based PL share increase strategy.

Requirements to candidate:

  • Degree in Marketing, (International) Business, Finance or any other related field is an advantage;

  • 3 years of experience in Private Label field (at best, practical experience in a similar position);

  • Good understanding of sales and marketing strategies;

  • Well-developed communicational skills (written and oral) and a customer orientation;

  • Knowledge about budget management, stock management, procurement, international trade, and taxations;

  • Ability to easily comprehend and organize shipment processes;

  • Good command of Azerbaijani, Russian, and English languages;

  • Negotiation skills;

  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills;

  • Presentation skills.
